Museum Image Consortium
AMICO is a not for profit association of institutions
who have collections of art. Collaboratively,
AMICO and its members are building a digital library
of art which is used as an educational tool for
public schools, public libraries, universities
and colleges. All organizations with art collections
may join as long as they contribute to the multimedia
library.

Canadian
Conservation Institute (CCI)
CCI was formed in 1972 with the goal of promoting
the proper care and preservation of Canada's cultural
heritage. CCI works with museums, galleries, academic
institutions and heritage organizations to preserve
their collections.

The International Center for the Study of the
Preservation and the Restoration of Cultural Property
(ICCROM)
ICCROM
is an autonomous, scientific, intergovernmental
organization founded by UNESCO in 1959 and headquartered
in Rome, following the terms of an agreement between
the Government of the Italian Republic and UNESCO.
As of May 2000, ICCROM has over 90 Member States
and more than 50 Associate Members ¾ public or
private nonprofit cultural institutions involved
in preservation. In the development of its statutory
mandates, ICCROM contributes to international,
regional and national activities exercising, in
particular, the following functions: the collection,
study, and circulation of information on matters
relating to the conservation and restoration of
cultural property; the promotion of research in
this domain; offering consultancy on general or
specific questions relating to matters of its
competencies; developing training relating to
the conservation and restoration of cultural property
and encouraging initiatives that create a better
understanding of the field.

Institute of Paper Conservation (IPC)
The
IPC is the only organization specializing in paper
and related materials conservation. A nonprofit
organization, the IPC administers workshops and
other activities that are aimed at promoting their
message of paper preservation.

Permanence Institute (IPI)
IPI
is a nonprofit research laboratory dedicated to
the preservation and scientific study of visual
and recorded information. IPI was founded in 1985
and is now the largest individual laboratory with
a specific scope.

International Society of Appraisers (ISA)
The ISA has provided qualified appraisers to the
public for more than twenty years. They have grown
into the largest association of professionally
educated appraisers in the United States. The
ISA specializes in four areas: Antiques and residential
contents, fine art, gems and jewelry and machinery
and equipment.

Congress
The Preservation Directorate's challenge is to
preserve and provide uninterrupted access to the
many collections housed at the Library of Congress.

NEDCC
was founded in 1973 in order to restore and protect
institution collections in New England. Today,
the NEDCC is the largest nonprofit regional conservation
center in the United States. The NEDCC has restored
some of the most significant paper and photographic

The
largest international trade association for the
art and framing professional. Supporting a membership
of more than 4,000 custom picture framers, art
galleries, manufacturers and distributors in North
America and overseas, the association provides

Smithsonian
Center for Materials Research and Education
SMCRE was originally established to provide support
to the Smithsonian Center collections. Today,
